Are you a "Green Builder"?

Jaysen Clark, of Tradesmen Builders, holds a degree in Ecological Philosophy from the Evergreen State College, one of the “greenest” colleges in the United States. He was the foreman of Natural Builders, a contracting firm dedicated to natural building, in Taos, New Mexico for several years. In fact, using green technologies has been at the forefront of our ideology since the beginning. For the past decade, we have been looking at ultra-efficient net zero energy loss designed homes that incorporate exquisite finishes like earthen plasters, clay paints, locally sourced woods, wood products acquired using the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, and more that minimize our carbon footprint.

What does it cost to build per square foot?

While we get this question often, it truly is the hardest to answer. The short answer is: it depends entirely on the design. There are so many different products and approaches that it is impossible to just give a flat price per square foot to build. Especially in terms of interior finishes, there is quite a range of products and varying labor costs associated with each of those. The best thing is to have a good design! Once you have a design, we can work with you to determine the costs of bringing your particular vision to life. We are happy to provide you with clear estimates for your proposed project and work with you to create a budget for your project.

Do you offer "Design Services"?

Yes. We do offer design services. Depending on your type of project, it may be better to hire an outside design professional or architect. This is also impacted by scheduling and the urgency of the project.

Do you help with the permitting process?

Absolutely! As a licensed general contractor, we are here for you every step of the way from working on design to implementation of your idea. We can help obtain soil sampling, water sampling, zoning clearances, and get the appropriate building permits for your projects squared away.

My project is kind of small. Would you still be interested?

Again-Absolutely! I know it sounds “cliche”, but really no project is too small. We pride ourselves on being a builder “for the homeowner.” Whether it’s a simple painting/staining project or a massive ground-up build, we want to help you. We are dedicated to keeping our prices affordable for the average person, whilst achieving an unprecedented level of quality on each and every project.

We are also a Better Business Bureau accredited business with an A+ rating, sometimes reviews can be found there.
